  2. Hi Ramasubbiah,
I think you've developed a wonderfully simple but effective (and free!) Excel to Tally tool, filling a great need, super! However, while I got it to work fine for straightforward entries, I can't seem to figure out (forgive me, I'm relatively new to Tally) how to enter/configure a Dr/Dr/Cr journal transaction in your xlsm template and get Tally to import it properly, for example if I want to make a journal entry such as:

    BY Company x 900
    BY TDS receivable 100
    TO Service charges 1000

I tried to enter it in different ways but it doesn't seem to work. It does work when entering it as

    BY Company X 900
    TO Service charges 900

    BY TDS receivable 100
    TO Service charges 100

But this wouldn't be the correct way, and wouldn't end up entirely correct in Tally. Thanks in advance for your guidance on how to do this...and perhaps add some templates with different types of entries for your users' reference?

  3. Hi Ram,
How can I make a journal transaction with two debited accounts and one credited account, when the xlsm template only provides one debited account and one credited account per line?
    Let me know, thanks.

  4. Excellent work. Please keep it up. I would suggest that vouchers to tally may be improved to help CAs better. For example adding facility to add cost center in receipt vouchers will help CAs in entering their own receipts in lesser time. All the best to you.

  5. Hello Ram, Its really good to see your work. I came across your blog while browsing for a solution to import excel data to Tally. I found our tool "Tally Auto Entry" very useful. However, it has some limitations.

Would you like to customize it as per my need. I am ready to pay you for your effort on my customisation. We can discuss more in details, please reach me out at mahendra.connect.ind@gmail.com

    Regards,
    Mahendra
